The Artists

Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes is more than just a hotel.

It is home, history, art. It has always been the home of art and artists in Venice: 67 rooms, more than 200 paintings and a memory that spans generations, from Pirandello to Baryshnikov.

Staying here means experiencing art in all its forms: in the notes drifting from Teatro La Fenice, in the paintings displayed along the corridors, in the books, photographs, autographs and small details that tell the life of the hotel.

Guests, artists and travellers especially appreciate its originality: a familiar, authentic atmosphere, different from that of a conventional hotel. Here, art is not decoration, but a living part of the experience.

More than 200 paintings are displayed throughout the hotel. They are the works created during the eight painting competitions that the Facchini Family organised in the hotel’s halls between 2000 and 2008, promoting artistic talents from all over the world and, year after year, engaging the curiosity of their guests.

“Over the years, those competitions transformed the hotel. They turned it into a great work of art in constant evolution.” Eleonora Facchini, 2016

Even today, those paintings change, move and exchange places. Our wish is for every stay to hold a small surprise: to find again a beloved painting, discover a new one, or be struck by a detail never noticed before.

Over the years, great names from the worlds of art, music, cinema, theatre and dance have stayed at Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes. Among them we remember Igor Stravinsky, Luciano Pavarotti, Federico Fellini, Miles Davis, Maria Callas, Riccardo Muti, Katia Ricciarelli, Robert De Niro, Carla Fracci and Ugo Tognazzi.

Among our more recent guests, also Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alberto Angela and Toni Servillo: artists and personalities who have recognised in this place something rare and deeply Venetian.

A hotel to experience like a home.
A home to discover like an art gallery.
